A Walk in the
Vineyards

At Oakvale Estate, nestled in the captivating landscapes of the Franschhoek Valley, we pride ourselves on more than just offering a place to stay; we are also passionate producers of fine Cap Classique wines. Our vineyards, under the expert care of winemaker Etienne Louw, are dedicated to cultivating premium Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes, harvested with precision and care to create wines that embody the spirit of Oakvale.

In January 2023, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from our newly established vineyards were hand-picked in the cool morning hours to preserve their freshness. The grapes were whole-bunch-pressed, and the juice was clarified via flotation before each cultivar was fermented separately. After undergoing malolactic fermentation in tanks to enhance complexity, both a Brut-style Pinot Noir/Chardonnay blend and a Pinot Noir Rosé were bottled in December 2023 for their second fermentation, where they developed their signature effervescence and refinement.

This dedication to meticulous winemaking shines through in every bottle’s vibrant flavours and exceptional quality. As you wander through our lush vineyards, the elegance and craftsmanship of our Cap Classique wines offer a glimpse into the rich heritage and exciting future of winemaking at Oakvale.
